Everyone has a story that should be heard. I'm here to collect.

Jonny Blevins // Writer

The AP Collection took another trip to the CLP for the Blind and Physically Handicapped and met up with Jonny Blevins, a writer who is currently pursuing his MFA at Chatham University. The program that drew him to Chatham was Words Without Walls, where students teach inmates at the Allegheny County Jail, a program that he now has an integral role in.

Genevieve and Jonny talk about the core goal of being a writer, teaching, prison reform and the problems with the current prison system. Jonny also mentions the people, programs and experiences that fostered his current passion of prison reform. They both ask the crucial questions that are at the center of the issue and discuss the various pitfalls and triumphs of reform work.
